“ We came to Kowloon Tong on a whim and were pleasantly surprised to find a bustling Hong-Kong style dessert cafe. The experience felt identical to cafes we visited in HK itself! The restaurant seemed to be a two man show, run by a father and son (perhaps?). Every single table was taken around 8PM on a weekend, so it seemed very popular. We tried the mango sago, which had plenty of ripe mango that was very sweet! The ice dessert was a great mix of textures from grass jelly, crunchy ice, and sweet red bean paste. The ginger milk curd was not really fully set, but I know how hard it is to execute. But, it tasted good with a heavy amount of spicy ginger! The translation of the menu is very rough so I would recommend Google translate if you are unsure what it is. I don't want to yuck anyone's yum. But, they had some dishes I wouldn't necessarily choose like some sort of frog dessert make of actual frog fat (said our translator!) ”

“ Kowloon Tong desert cafe has been here since the 90s'? My friend lives up the block and I remember seeing people still in there when I drop him off after bar hopping. It is still the same. The place was filled tonight with people waiting for a table at 9:30pm. The food here is OK. Not the best. The thing that keeps people coming back is that they are open late if you want to have a place to chat after dinner. Good times. ”

“ Ambiance - Give me a classic / modern hong kong cafe vibe 4/5 Service - Server has always been very polite. There has been a few instance where i ordered some dessert before closing. They were still very nice to satisfied my order. 5/5 Food - 4/5 Snow Frog w Red Date Taste - Sweet but not too sweet / Smooth Texture. Snow frog gave me a glass noodle texture. Red dates earthy and soft Smell - Sweet Aroma Looks - Standard. Nothing Special Bird Nest w Fresh Milk Taste - Milky Smooth going into the mouth. slight odd texture after , from the simmer down bird nest stran. Smell - Sweet and Coconut Aroma Looks - Standard. Nothing Special Additonal Comment - This place is very unique. I have not yet found any place that has these type of Hong Kong style dessert. Most places have Mango Sago , Red Bean , or Black Seasme. But these Medicinal Grade Desserts not so much. When I was a child , my father would make these dessert for me to help me Lower Heat in my body because I eat a lot of fried foods. So this means a lot to me. After I had these dessert I did feel less fatigue the next day. Great health benefits. ”

There is enough parking in the general vicinity too. They are super reliable. We come here for the comfort of familiar HK-style desserts! This review is finally written to encompass all of the countless times we have come here. We wanted HK-style milk tea, HK-style dinners, HK-style desserts, you name it! They got it! It is family-friendly and hits the nostalgia button for the HK old timers. You just want a place to chillax at night? This is the go-to place in the heart of the city - or close to it. ”

“ Kowloon will always have a special place in my heart. I've been coming here since I was a little girl. I remember the late nights with my cousins, driving all the way from across the city just to eat here. I loved their waffle sundae. I've revisited not too long ago on a weekend afternoon just to check out their happy hour menu from 5pm - 7pm everyday. they are known for their Hong Kong style snacks - particularly the popcorn chicken, curry fish balls, egg puffs, salt and pepper wings and pork chop, steamed rice crepes, and of course their other traditional desserts with fruit and sago. Service is always quick, and the food has never let me down. this place can get pretty packed on the weekends, especially around 10-11pm. However, there is absolutely no one when they open at 5pm. if you want to avoid crowds, I recommend coming for happy hour ”
